To all Topsham Sailing Club members, copy to TSC committee.
I’ve been asked to remind members about a couple of membership matters.
The committee don’t want to be too prescriptive but there are sensible rules in place for the smooth running of the Club.
Signing in guests and visitors.
To serve alcohol the Club has a Club Premises Certificate and a condition of that Certificate is that guests are signed in and visitor sign in. There is a book on the wall next to the galley and a clipboard with a signature block in the canopy area, please use either of them.
Club members may sign in two guests at any one time and those guests may not attend the Club more than twelve occasions in any calendar year (rule 22(b)). Members must accompany their guest(s) whilst their guest(s) are on Club premises (rule 22(c)).
Visitors who are members of an RYA affiliated Club may be granted use of the Club’s facilities. Visitors who have entered open meetings may also be granted use of the Club’s facilities. All visitors must sign themselves in, (rule 23).
Spouses / partners & cadets.
If members’ spouse / partner and or children are making good use of the Club but the member has forgotten to add them to their membership the committee do expect the spouse / partner and children over 7 years on 1st October to become members.
Its astonishingly good value at £20.00 p.a. for spouse / partner; it’s free for under 7year olds and only £20.00 p.a. for Cadets over 7 and under 18 (or if later finishing full time education). Application forms are on the Club website and members can propose their spouse / partner and or children. No joining fee is payable, (rule 15(a)).
I’ve been asked to remind members that the yard is not a car park.
